N.I.C.
Who is N.I.C.?
Good
question, and one that seems to be getting asked more and more these
days. Hardly surprising if youve ever had a taste of this sultry
singer. Trouble is, it aint that easy to sum her up in a media
friendly sound bite. So for those of you who feel the need to pigeonhole
artists with the latest convenient label, this is not for you.
However, for those who are still looking for passion and adventure,
here is an attempt to sum up N.I.C.
Every so often, something comes along thats got it all. Nor am
I talking about something that has been carefully designed to be the
" whole package". This is the real deal.
N.I.C. is one of those really annoying individuals who is talented enough
to turn her hand to anything and excell at it. And don't be fooled by
her beauty either, this pretty face has brains that take no prisoners!
An all-encompassing artist, an accomplished singer/ songwriter, a provocative
performer and one of the few female producers in the World. Yep, shes
got it all. Told you she was annoying, but it gets worse. You see, its
very difficult to dislike her. She is disarmingly charming. Honest,
funny, sexy and just very
genuine. You cant help but fall
in love with her, dont worry though, its not your fault.
After all, youre only human and everybody else is doing the same.
Girls want to be her
boys want to be with her. A real star.
The same was true for a little girl growing up in rural Germany. Her
father , a trumpet player, and mother , a singer brought the fledgling
N.I.C. up on a diet of Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder and James Brown.
Like we all have at some point, the 5 yr old NIC stood in front of the
mirror with a hairbrush and dreamed of becoming a singer. However ,
unlike the rest of us, NIC wasn't just miming to her beloved Prince-
and David Bowie Songs, she was making up her own.She could read music
before she could read words.
At the age of 17, N.I.C. based herself in Cologne and trained with Spanish
opera Diva Francesca Beaumot. From here she travelled all over Europe
also singing for soul and funk legends such as The Weather Girls and
George Clinton. By the time German TV music station VIVA had asked her
to support the Backstreet Boys it was clear to all that the billing
should have been the other way round.
N.I.C. then decided to do it herself. And so to the present day, N.I.C.
is currently working on her debut album with Germanys hottest dance
producer King Brain. Its a power packed punch of pop, house, rock
and techno all fused together with funk. If the first single Im
All You Need is anything to go by then look out. Whatever your
fetish or fantasy is, N.I.C. is all you need. That's a very brief summary
of what NIC is about. The only other thing I would add is that as a
performer she likes both, to give and to receive. And now I'm off to
imagine what that might mean. If you want to know more, you'd better
check her out for yourself!
But if I were you, I'd hurry because N.I.C. won't be a secret for very
much longer.
